The Kansas City Royals beat the New York Mets in the World Series on Sunday, November 1st, 7-2, for their second straight World Series appearance, and their second franchise win.
After trailing 2-0 in the top of the ninth, the Mets pitcher gave up a walk, putting Royal's batter Lorenzo Cain on base, where he stole second, putting him in to scoring position. Eric Hosmer hit a double to deep left field, sending Cain to score. Mike Moustakas hit a sacrifice groundout sending Hosmer to third. Salvador Perez hit a sacrifice groundout to third, leading Hosmer to tie the game at 2. The game remained tied until the 12th inning, where the Royals scored 5 runs, leading them to their second win.
